As president of the Synagogue of Deal, I started writing a weekly letter in 1988 to fourteen hundred families for ten weeks during the summer months. I did this for four summers and developed a following in my community.

In 1993 I started writing an article in the Image Magazine every month for many years. Over that time people would see me and tell me how much they enjoyed reading my articles. After a while people started to tell me that I have to put the articles in a book form. I was encouraged to do so by people outside of my community as well.

In 1999 I was introduced to an editor for the publication of my first book “Thoughts from the Heart” which I self published. Four months later my first book was completed. The name of the book came from people that told me that I write from the heart. The book has been very well received and is available on amazon.com.
The main purpose of my writing was to try to help others so that people could understand the realities of life and its purpose. Many people go through life looking for help or advice in simple terms. My book serves this purpose in a way that most people can appreciate and apply to their own lives.
I have been told by many people that have read my first book that they continue to pick up my book and read it over and over again. It is very uplifting and spiritual in a very positive way.
I have never had any formal writing experience or any knowledge or background in writing. I want to thank the people that encouraged me to write as proof that over time we learn things about ourselves that we never knew we had a talent for.
I have had the satisfaction of seeing the positive results from people that have read my essays. This has been one of the most gratifying accomplishments in my lifetime. It has all come about from serving my community for over thirty years.
