Charles S. Haddad is the chairman of Haddad Apparel Group, Ltd., America’s number one children’s clothier.
Born in New York City and currently living in New Jersey, he has worked in the family business for over fifty years. When the company was started in the nineteen thirties by his grandfather, his father and his father’s three brothers, it imported lace goods from china.
During World War II they manufactured pillow cases and sheets for Sears Roebuck and J C Penney in New Jersey. After World War II the company imported merchandise from Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and the Philippines. In order to continue successfully, the family has changed the way they have done business with each successive generation.
The company decided in 1980 to import licensed children’s apparel, and today it imports Nike brand, Nike sports, Michael Jordan, Major League Baseball, Levi’s, Dockers, Dickies, and Harley-Davidson from sizes new born to twenty boy and girl.
Today the company imports children’s apparel, accessories and hosiery from many countries around the world with these famous brand names. The merchandise is designed in house and purchased from around the world, and shipped from several company warehouses in New Jersey. Sales offices are located in New York City. He has three sons in the business today.
